Academics
UBU is fully accredited to offer 4 specialized degree programs: each has its own unique emphasis and purpose, but they all enable and prepare you faithfully to communicate the Word of God to others.

Master of Divinity: The "MDiv" is a professional degree designed to prepare those called to pastoral or teaching positions within the body of Christ.  It consists of 106 credit hours; 100 required hours, 6 free elective hours, and the completion of a 400 hour Field Education requirement.  Click here to see a full list of degree program requirements for the MDiv. Also, please note the only courses that must be completed in a particular order are the languages (Greek & Hebrew) and Preaching courses; all other courses can be completed as your schedule allows.

Master of Arts (Biblical Studies): The "MABS" is an academic degree designed to prepare those called to lay positions within the body of Christ who desire a comprehensive biblical education.  It consists of 66 credit hours; 50 required hours, 8 free elective hours and 8 biblical studies elective hours. Master of Arts (Religion): The "MAR" is an academic degree designed to prepare those called to lay positions within the body of Christ who desire a broad biblical education and to author a Master's level summative project.  It consists of 60 credit hours; 43 required hours, 12 free elective hours, and 5 hours dedicated to the completion of a Master's level summative project. Doctor of Ministry: The "DMin" is a 30 credit-hour post-MDiv degree designed to increase the effectiveness of pastors, which can be done through occasional week-long intensive coursework while remaining in full-time ministry.

Certificate: The Certificate is a flexible 30 credit-hour program that enables the student to cultivate a strong biblical and/or theological foundation without the requirements normally associated with a full degree program.  Completed coursework in the Certificate program may be applied toward the MDiv, MABS, and MAR.
